The Buffalo Bills have signed former Chicago Bears Quarterback Jordan Palmer, according to a report from NBC Chicago.

Palmer, who has not appeared in a regular season game since 2010, has also played for the Cincinnati Bengals and Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Bills open their season against Palmer's former team on September 7.

The signing comes after Bills Head Coach Doug Marrone said he was unhappy with the performance of current backup quarterbacks Jeff Tuel and Thad Lewis.
