HEFLIN, AL.- Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus was arrested Monday night by Alabama State Troopers on drug charges, according to state troopers.

State troopers say they stopped a vehicle driven by Dareus for speeding on Interstate-20 in Heflin Ala.

After further investigation, state troopers say Dareus was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dareus was later placed in Cleburne County Jail, according to state troopers.

Wednesday afternoon, the team released a statement on behalf of GM Doug Whaley.

"We are, obviously, disappointed with this latest development involving Marcell Dareus. We will be in contact with the league regarding the situation and continue to offer support and assistance to Marcell," said Whaley.
