FORT HOOD, Texas- A Western New York native was one of the at least fourteen people injured after a shooting Wednesday afternoon at the Fort Hood military base.

Jeff Chouinard, a friend of Major Patrick Miller, says Miller was shot in the stomach, but is expected to make a full, but long recovery.

Miller is an Allegany native who lists himself as a major in the Army stationed at Fort Hood, Texas.

Miller's social media profiles say he attended St. Bonaventure and Syracuse universities.

Miller's wife is with him, and his mother is expected to make the trip to Texas next week

There were will be a vigil for Miller at the Allegany Baptist Church tonight (Thursday) from 6pm-8pm. The public is invited to attend.

Doctors at Scott & White Memorial Hospital say there are still three patients in critical condition after the Fort Hood shooting Wednesday afternoon. VPC
