WESTFIELD, NY - A Westfield man faces multiple charges after police say he threw gasoline on a woman and lit her, a house and two cars on fire Monday evening.
Police say Thomas Pereira, 33, had a domestic dispute with the woman inside a home on Bank Street around 6:00 p.m. Monday.
Westfield Police say Pereira barricaded himself in the basement of the home for more than an hour before officers tased and arrested him.
The woman was taken to Westfield Hospital with minor injuries.
Police say Pereira also threw a can of gasoline at a neighbor who tried to help the woman and put the fire out.
Periera faces assault, arson, burglary, and reckless endangerment charges.
He was arraigned in Village of Westfield court and is being held at the Chautauqua County Jail without bail.
