CHEEKTOWAGA, NY - You've likely heard a lot of stories over the last few days about veterans who served in D-Day 70 years ago. They're important to tell because there are only about a million American WWII vets left.

That's why scenes like these are all the more important.

A big crowd came out to the Buffalo-Niagara Airport Saturday night to welcome WWII veterans home from an Honor Flight. The group makes sure that veterans have the chance to see the WWII memorial in Washington, D.C. honoring the sacrifice made by these men and their comrades.

This was Honor Flight Buffalo's 15th flight, and now they're planning number 16.
