Former Depew Saints treasurer pleads guilty to stealing from the team.
BUFFALO, NY - The former treasurer of the Depew Saints hockey team has admitted to stealing $90,000 from the team.
Teresa Fusani pleaded guilty Monday to Grand Larceny in the Second Degree, the highest charge for which she could have been convicted.
Fusani stole money from the club from July, 2006 until January, 2010. Then, after leaving her treasurer post in January, 2010, she began sending donation request letters on behalf of the team to several Depew area businesses through April, 2013, keeping any of the money she received.
The Erie County District Attorney's office says Fusani used the money she stole to support a gambling habit.
She faces a maximum prison sentence of 5-15 years when sentenced in February.
