NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. - When the New York Times profiled Niagara Falls as one of its "52 Places to Go in 2014," the restaurant it recommended to readers was the Griffon Pub.
One taste of its unique culinary creations is all you need to see why.
The relatively new restaurant opened by the owners of the former Lewiston Village Pub prides itself on offering eaters something they've never tasted before, in a bar that offers 50+ beers on tap and a classy setting that you'd never guess was transformed from a run-down diner.
Any first-time eater at the Griffon can't miss the chance to try the Chicken & Waffle Sandwich (topped with bacon, cheese, jalapeno cole slaw and maple mayo) served with a side of parmesan truffle fries. As owner Ken Scibetta puts it, it's what all sandwiches should be. Unique Eats heartily agrees.
Other unique tastes there include the Bacon Jam Burger (topped with egg, onion straws, and a bacon-bourbon-maple jam that's absolutely incredible) and Gnocchi Poutine. The hardest thing for Unique Eats was choosing which of the menu items to try.
Be sure to make reservations for dinner; the place fills up quickly.
